Safety Tips for Riding an Electric Skateboard

Electric skateboards are a fun and convenient way to get around, but it's important to remember that they can also be dangerous if not used properly. To have a safe and happy ride, it's important to follow these safety tips:

1. Always wear a helmet

This is the most important safety tip when riding an electric skateboard. A helmet can protect your head in case of a fall or collision, please remember you only have one brain, so wear a helmet to protect your cleaver brain. Besides, It's also a good idea to wear knee and elbow pads.

2. Check your equipment before each ride

Forming a good riding habit can protect you from unnecessary accidents. Make sure that your electric skateboard is in good condition before riding. Check the wheels, trucks, batteries and all screws to ensure that everything is working properly. Don't forget to adjust the speed and brake modes that are suitable for you before standing on the board. Uditer recommends that you should start with speed 1 first when you are adapted to the speed and feel comfortable, accelerate gradually.

3. Start slow and practice

If you're new to riding an electric skateboard, it's important to start slow speed and practice in a safe and open area. Uditer electric skateboards have 4 gear modes, the top speed of Uditer electric skateboard is 28mph (45kph), which is too fast for beginners. Thus, please choose Speed 1 to start learning if you are a beginner.  Get comfortable with the controls and the balance of the board before you start riding in more challenging environments.  To prevent a sudden rush or fall off, please uniformly and linearly turn the throttle to accelerate and decelerate.

4. Follow traffic laws

Even though riding an electric skateboard, you should follow the same rules as you would when driving a car or riding a bike. This includes stopping when red lights, signaling when turning, and riding in the designated lanes.

5. Stay aware of your surroundings

When riding an electric skateboard, it's important to be aware of your surroundings at all times. Look out for pedestrians, cyclists, and cars, and be prepared to stop or maneuver around obstacles.

6. Avoid riding in adverse weather conditions

Rain, snow, and other adverse weather conditions can make riding an electric skateboard more dangerous. It's best to avoid riding in these conditions and wait until the weather clears up.

7. Don't ride with headphones on

It's important to be able to hear your surroundings when riding an electric skateboard. Avoid wearing headphones or earbuds while riding, as they can limit your ability to hear approaching vehicles or other potential hazards.

By following these safety tips, you can enjoy the fun and convenience of riding an electric skateboard while also keeping yourself and others safe on the road. Always remember to prioritize safety and take the necessary precautions to avoid accidents or injuries.
